Why we use attic fans?

The roof’s attic is any house buffer towards the environmental hardship. It
protects and in the same time offers a temperature gradient to keep existing
house temperatures at a comfort level.

During the sun rise and the sun down the roof is under continue thermal stress being
beamed with 215 Btus/sqft/hour up to 280 Btus/sqft/hour. This is a considered
thermal energy enough to bring temperature under shingles at 160F for hot summer
days with outside temperatures over 90F.

That in
average will bring temperatures in roof’s attic at 150F and in house rooms close
to 80F and over. Can we call this comfortable? We are with 20F over what we like
to have in our leaving habitat and we call our home.

How we
can reach to have a comfortable temperature in our house with an exiting room
temperature at 70F. We have to reduce the attic temperatures between 115F to
110F. That will lower the rooms’ temperature at 70F and even more.

How we can do that? The industry offers couple of solutions. The classic ones are
turbine vents, the chef’s hat we are used to see on a warehouse roof. They move
the air in the attic and lower the temperatures respective they take a good
chunk of humidity out of that environment. What is the downside? They are
working most of the time after the sun goes down considering the higher chance
to have winds. It is of some good but not very efficient during the very hot
daily temperatures. The other common solutions are an electric motor gable vent
mounted on the roof or under the roof eaves to exhaust temperatures and take out
humidifies. Some problems are occurring when temperatures are exceeding 140F for
a sustainable time. They may overheat the electrical motor to the level is
crashing. Luckily the industry had cam such a long road and we have the best solutions to vent the roof attic. We green the house and become high efficient using solar powered
attic fans. Solar powered fans are providing action during the sun beaming over
the roof’s ridge. The main gain is lowering temperature and evacuating
condenses. Because condense will deteriorate the roofs tresses and the general
house isolation.
